Day at the Park

In honor of the freezing cold weather that New York is experiencing right now I thought I would share a flashback to warmer days.

During my blogging vacation I forgot about an end of summer post that I had started to put together but never posted. As it is a freezing tundra outside right now, I figured why not remember the warmer days. So here it is, a throw back to summer and the time when we could go out in the warm weather without bundling up.

C and I wandered up to the northern portion of central park to the Conservatory Gardens. The gardens are broken up into 3 sections the French, English and Italian style. These may be my favorite part of Central Park as they are never too crowded and incredibly beautiful.

The gardens are gorgeous and are a great way to spend the day as there is so much to see.

We started out in the Italian gardens which are incredibly lush, with large bushes all surrounding a simple pond.

The center of the American Gardens has a large fountain, gorgeous lawn and the most amazing vine arbor.

The entrance to the French Garden... a romantic and simple garden with flower arches as the entry way into the round garden with a bronze statue in the middle of dancing children.

I hope you enjoyed the flash back to summer... now back to reality filled with scarves and puffer jackets.

Missed Moments pt 2

Back in New York, fall had finally arrived. Fall is by far my favorite season. It has just the right weather where you can begin to layer, wear cute coats, boots and scarves which to me is perfect. I love the crisp air and changing leaves... plus the photo ops are pretty great.

To kick off fall I was lucky enough to go to the opening show of Fashion Week featuring Gareth Pugh.

He is an incredibly talented fashion designer known for his edgy style and for dressing celebrities like Lady Gaga... I was pretty much in fashion heaven. His show was spectacular and consisted of 3 short film accompanied by dancers. The audience would move with the show around the room giving you a completely different experience than just watching clothes go down a runway.

Continuing my NY love affair, I made it to a few end of seasonYankee games... and said goodbye to Derek Jeter. In case you missed it, Gatorade made an amazing video celebrating Jeter and I highly recommend you checking it out Here... warning you may get emotional... I know I do.

C and I attended our first close friend's wedding... so crazy! Even more crazy is the number of weddings we have in the near future. I guess we need to learn some new dance moves and I will have to buy more dresses... such a burden...

For anyone who follows my twitter account you will know that I'm obsessed with fitness, and when I saw NIKE's new line for Women I was dying to check it out. Lucky for me, NIKE was kind enough to send over a little gift box... I must say their hand written letter was a very classy touch.

In further supporting NIKE and in honor of my amazing mother, here she is finishing the San Francisco NIKE Women's Half Marathon this past month! Who looks that cute after running a marathon??

For Halloween I went out as a skeleton... clearly a very on trend costume this year as I'm pretty sure every person on Facebook had the same idea.

Had the change to catch up with a college friend in town on business (aka why she missed the costume memo... not her fault)... as well as hung out with a friendly monkey.

Now that it is November, I can officially declare that the countdown to Christmas has arrived!!! By far my favorite holiday and I am so excited to be able to listen to Christmas music again.

That has basically been my life in a nutshell the past few months, more exciting adventures to come... a few involving some tea and crumpets across the pond!

Missed Moments

As a way to get back into blogging I thought I would let you know where I have been and what I have been up to over this past few months summarized in a few post (mainly pictures). Over the past few months, I have been incredibly busy with moving, starting a new job, trips across the country, and general life events. As a way to balance my life I decided that a little blogging hiatus was in order. Going forward I will try to post regularly and hopefully everyone continues to follow along!

So...

As a mini vacation, I took some time off between changing jobs and flew back to the pacific to spend some time with my family and friends. I don't know if I have mentioned this before, but my family in recent years has become obsessed with breakfast.

Getting together for breakfast has become such a tradition that it seems like whenever we are all home we go almost daily... *cough... gluttony ... as such, we have found a few amazing places...

I arrived in California just in time to meet Shiloh's new brother and best friend Scout!

There were a few parties with friends and family... and lots of cocktails.

More breakfasts... seriously though. Breakfast is the best. Drinking great coffee and hanging out with family is such a pleasant way to start a day.

There was some hiking... gotta burn off those breakfasts!

And some cliff side yoga...

Clearly taking it very seriously...

Spending that time at home was the perfect way to recharge before I started my new job and apartment hunt (anyone who lives in NY knows the burden/stress of moving)... so this was the perfect escape from reality.
